Kia will begin mass production of the global strategic model, the small Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) "Siros," at its plant in India.
Kia noted that on the 16th (local time), it held a ceremony to mark the mass production of the Siros at its plant in Andhra Pradesh, India, on the 17th. More than 200 employees, including Kia President Song Ho-sung, Global Business Management Head Lee Tae-hoon, and India Region Head Lee Kwang-gu, attended the ceremony.
Earlier, Kia unveiled the Siros in India in 2024, the first in the world. The name Siros is derived from an island in the Cyclades of Greece, reflecting the image of Siros Island, where tradition and Western culture harmonize, signifying a differentiated product characteristic.
The Siros is an urban SUV with advanced features and spacious interior. It is equipped with sliding and reclining functions for the rear seats, along with ventilated seats. Advanced driver assistance systems and a dual panoramic sunroof are also installed.
The current number of pre-orders for the Siros stands at 10,258 units. Kia plans to unveil the price of the Siros in the Indian market on the 1st of next month and begin sales. Additionally, it plans to expand its sales market to the Asia-Pacific, Latin America, and Africa-Middle East regions.
President Song Ho-sung said, "The Siros incorporates various advanced features and comfortable interior space by actively reflecting customer opinions," adding, "We will continue to provide differentiated value to local Indian customers and further strengthen our position in the Indian market."
