Genesis noted on the 16th that it has launched the electric sports utility vehicle (SUV) GV70 electrification model and has begun full-scale sales.
The GV70 electrification model underwent a partial change for the first time in 2 years and 10 months, making it the third electric vehicle following the GV60 and GV80 electrification models, which were first launched in March 2022.
The new GV70 electrification model features a 84 kWh (kilowatt-hours) fourth-generation battery, increasing the driving range from the previous 400 km to 423 km on a single charge. It has improved the battery conditioning mode so that users can adjust the battery temperature whenever they want.
Genesis has applied new electric vehicle power control technology to the new GV70 electrification model. There is a power-on mode available, which allows the vehicle to use electricity without driving by pressing the start button once without stepping on the brake.
The new GV70 electrification model improves driving stability by adding highway body motion control (HBC) technology to the previously applied preview electronic control suspension (ECS). It also features a virtual shift function that provides the shift feel of internal combustion engine vehicles through electric motor control and new active sound design.
The new GV70 electrification model incorporates Genesis' design philosophy of 'athletic elegance' with its signature two-line headlamps and a newly designed crest grill that features a g-matrix pattern in a gradation form. The interior is equipped with a 27-inch integrated wide display that combines the cluster and infotainment system (ccIC), following another design philosophy of 'the beauty of emptiness.'
Meanwhile, Genesis will hold a special exhibition titled 'Invitation to the GV70 Electrification Model' at the Genesis Suji 4th floor showroom from the 17th to the 26th.
