The American Chamber of Commerce in Korea (AMCHAM) held a meeting with Gyeonggi Governor Kim Dong-yeon.

James Kim, AMCHAM chairman, held a closed-door meeting with Governor Kim on the 8th to discuss Korea-U.S. economic cooperation. Attendees included 3M, Applied Materials Korea, Bloom Energy Korea, Coupang, Ecolab Korea, and UL Solutions.

James Kim noted, "Korea has significant potential to grow as a hub for multinational corporations in the Asia-Pacific region," but added, "To achieve this, we must address issues such as regulatory clarity and the establishment of a stable investment environment."

James Kim further stated, "Korea serves as a reliable partner for the United States, and Korean corporations like Samsung, SK, Hyundai Motor Group, and LG are already playing an essential role in the U.S. economy."

He expressed confidence that the partnership between the two countries will achieve a new leap forward this year and said, "We will fully support efforts to highlight Korea's resilience and strategic importance to the world through events such as the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit."

Governor Kim Dong-yeon stated, "Gyeonggi Province will actively collaborate with AMCHAM in advanced industries such as semiconductors, future vehicles, and biotechnology to create a sustainable business ecosystem." He introduced Gyeonggi's policies and efforts to improve support for foreign-invested corporations and requested the active cooperation of AMCHAM members.
