On the 9th, 'Pofos,' which operates a pet funeral home, announced that the virtual memorial hall 'Walking Together' was launching a new service.
'Walking Together' is an online virtual memorial space service launched by Pofos in June 2024 as part of Pet Loss Syndrome care, allowing pet owners who have lost their pets to easily create a memorial space in the form of an exhibition hall online.
In 'Walking Together,' visitors can not only view memorial photos but also easily leave messages and condolences in a guestbook, serving as a community where pet owners sharing the same sorrow can comfort one another.
The new service offered by 'Walking Together' includes a guestbook feature as well as a letter exchange function, where pet owners can write and send letters to their pets, and the pets reply within the Pofos universe defined as Blissland.
The letters are sent as replies based on AI-generated images and texts derived from the living appearance of the pets and the text of the letters sent by the owners.
Blissland is a newly defined afterlife where pets live beyond the rainbow bridge, as envisioned by Pofos.
A representative from Pofos noted, "After the launch of the Walking Together service, many pet owners were seen writing letters to their pets and asking how they were doing. In response, we developed and provided this functionality as a way to better embrace the owners' sorrow. In the future, we plan to develop and offer various pet loss care programs both online and offline for those suffering from Pet Loss Syndrome."
Based on the motto, 'Providing proper services for the peace of life between pets and their owners,' Pofos plans to focus this year not only on services limited to funerals but also on Pet Loss Syndrome care services for the bereaved.
As part of this project, starting with the online memorial hall 'Walking Together,' there are plans to open a 'Pofos Help Care Center' in the second half of the year where programs and activities for Pet Loss Syndrome can be experienced in downtown Seoul.
Oh Tae-hwan, CEO of PetDoc, which operates Pofos, stated, "We will develop and provide various programs that do not simply limit themselves to pet funeral services but also embrace the hearts of the owners."
