The Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprises and Startups announced on the 7th that it will open the largest-ever "K-Startup Integrated Hall" at the world's largest tech exhibition, the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2025, held in Las Vegas, USA, for four days until the 10th (local time).
The Ministry will operate the "K-Startup Integrated Hall" at Eureka Park (the startup dedicated area) of CES 2025, supporting the exhibition participation of excellent domestic startups and local business matching.
This integrated hall, operated in collaboration with 30 domestic startup support organizations, including public institutions, local governments, universities, and large corporations, is the largest ever, showcasing innovative technologies and products from 127 startups. Compared to CES 2024, which had 26 organizations and 91 startups participating, the number of participating organizations and corporations has increased.
The opening ceremony of the "K-Startup Integrated Hall," held on the morning of the 7th, was attended by many distinguished guests, including Vice Minister Kim Seong-seob, who visited the site to encourage Korean small and medium-sized enterprises participating in CES, as well as Stavros S. Anthony, the Lieutenant Governor of Nevada, Choi Yeol-soo, the Acting Director of the Korea Startup Promotion Agency, Yang Geum-hee, the Vice Governor of North Gyeongsang Province, and Lee Seung-won, the Vice Mayor of Sejong City.
Vice Minister Kim Seong-seob emphasized, "The startup ecosystem in Korea is at a global level, as 125 venture and startup companies have won CES Innovation Awards, which draw attention from all over the world," and noted, "The Ministry will continue to actively support innovative 'K-Startups' as they use CES as a springboard to enter the global stage."
The Consumer Technology Association (CTA), which hosts CES, announced that it has awarded 461 CES Innovation Awards in 34 categories so far, with approximately half, 210 awards, going to Korean corporations. Among these, a total of 130 awards were won by small and medium enterprises, accounting for about 61.9%, and venture and startup companies secured 125.
