Jeju Air will hold an official briefing on the afternoon of the 29th regarding the passenger plane collision incident that occurred at Muan International Airport in Muan County, Jeollanam-do.

On the afternoon of the same day, Jeju Air plans to explain the circumstances of the collision involving flight 7C2216 from Bangkok, Thailand, which occurred around 9:03 a.m. The specific time of the briefing will be announced later.

The briefing is planned to detail ▲ an overview of the incident ▲ confirmed information regarding passengers and casualties so far ▲ Jeju Air's position, among other aspects.

Earlier, Jeju Air posted a notice on its website, saying, “We will make every effort regarding this incident” and “We apologize for the concern caused.”

Currently, Jeju Air reports that the accident aircraft veered off the runway's end while landing at Muan International Airport and collided with the airport's exterior wall, causing a fire. An emergency meeting has been convened to address the incident, and the specific situation and scale of casualties are being assessed.

The aircraft reportedly had a total of 181 people on board, including 173 Koreans, 2 Thais, and 6 crew members. As of 12:36 p.m. that day, there were 62 confirmed fatalities (25 males and 37 females), and 2 individuals have been rescued.
