The all-new Palisade, a complete redesign of Hyundai Motor’s large sports utility vehicle (SUV), recorded the third-highest number of contracts on the first day of pre-orders among the new vehicles launched by Hyundai Motor and Kia.
According to Hyundai Motor on the 25th, the all-new Palisade had 33,567 contracts signed on the first day of pre-orders on the 20th. This is the third-highest figure after 37,446 contracts for the Hyundai Motor Ioniq 6 on its first pre-order day in August 2022 and 36,455 contracts for the Kia The New Carnival in November 2023.
The all-new Palisade is the complete redesign model released six years after the first-generation Palisade was launched in November 2018. The hybrid model and a nine-seat trim have been added to the existing gasoline and diesel models.
It was reported that 70% of the contract signers on the first day opted for the hybrid model. Although the hybrid model is over 6 million won more expensive than the gasoline model, demand has surged due to the ongoing electric vehicle 'chasm' (temporary demand stagnation) and rising fuel prices.
Forty percent of the contract signers chose the nine-seat trim. Additionally, it was reported that 60% of the total select the highest trim, "Calligraphy," which is priced at 57.94 million won.
