Kumho Petrochemical announced on the 23rd that employees at its Central Research Institute in Daejeon conducted a "Love Briquette Sharing Volunteer Activity" to help local residents have a warm winter.
About 20 employees, including Director Ko Young-hoon of the Central Research Institute, personally delivered 1,200 briquettes to four energy-vulnerable households in Gayang 1-dong, Dong-gu, Daejeon. Additionally, Kumho Petrochemical donated an extra 2,400 briquettes to the Daejeon Briquette Bank, contributing a total of 3,600 briquettes to the community.
Kumho Petrochemical began its briquette sharing volunteer activities in 2015 and has continued to donate for six years, excluding the COVID-19 pandemic period. To date, it has delivered over 36,000 briquettes to seven locations in the Daejeon area. The company is also engaged in various social contribution activities for community development and coexistence, including marine environment cleanup activities in Baekya Island, Yeosu, and firefly breeding activities in Ulsan.
Director Ko Young-hoon, who participated in the volunteer activity, said, "I am glad that the volunteer activities, which were temporarily suspended due to COVID-19, have resumed after three years, and I will make efforts to continuously provide warmth to the Daejeon community in the future."
