Hanwha Solutions announced on the 23rd that it will pursue mutual cooperation with LG Display to develop eco-friendly packaging materials for electronic products. The plan is to apply the recycled polyethylene (rPE) developed by Hanwha Solutions to the protective packaging used for car-mounted display products produced by LG Display, thereby promoting the use of eco-friendly materials.

Through two years of research and development cooperation, Hanwha Solutions and LG Display have succeeded in developing eco-friendly packaging materials that meet the same quality as existing packaging materials, and they plan to begin introducing them across various product lines starting with packaging for automotive display panels in January of next year.

Recycled polyethylene (rPE) is Hanwha Solutions' representative plastic recycled material that has obtained the Global Recycled Standard (GRS) certification from Control Union, a credible global certification body, and can be used as various materials and supplies in different industries.

A representative from Hanwha Solutions noted, “We are expanding rPE supply sources into various industries such as industrial recycled packaging bags and eco-friendly cosmetics packaging,” and added, “We will contribute to the activation of a resource circulation economy and reduction of carbon emissions through the diversification of products using eco-friendly recycled materials.”
