Choi Tae-won, chairman of the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, sent a letter to the chairpersons of world chambers of commerce in 128 countries and foreign ambassadors from 116 countries, stating that "despite a series of recent difficulties, the South Korean economy is functioning normally."
According to the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry on the 22nd, Chairman Choi noted in the letter that "based on high recovery resilience and a stable market economy system, we will quickly overcome the difficulties we face."
Chairman Choi also expressed his intent to successfully host the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) business event next year. He stated, "The Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry will work with corporations and cooperate with the government to thoroughly prepare and make the 2025 APEC business event a significant milestone for the prosperity of Asia-Pacific countries and their corporations." Chairman Choi is set to chair the '2025 APEC CEO Summit,' which will be held in Gyeongju in October next year.
Lee Seong-woo, head of the APEC CEO Summit Promotion Headquarters at the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said, "With just over a year remaining until the APEC event, the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry will continue to inform the world of South Korea's stability through the world chamber of commerce network." He also stated, "We will make every effort to ensure that the APEC CEO Summit, the world's largest business event, becomes a place to enhance South Korea's national credibility."
