The Early Stage Investment Accelerator Association announced on the 20th that it successfully held the 2024 Startup Builders Awards on the 19th.
The event, held at the Seoul Startup Hub Mplus in Magok, Seoul, aimed to award institutions and individuals who contributed to the development of the domestic accelerator industry and foster collaboration and innovation.
The event consisted of two parts. In the first part, the 2024 Accelerator Insight Forum reflected on a year of the startup ecosystem in South Korea and discussed the role and significance of the Early Stage Investment Accelerator Association. A panel discussion with experts on the theme of 'the role in the co-evolution of the startup ecosystem' was also conducted.
In the second part of the event, the Startup Builders Awards were presented to those who contributed to the early stage startup investment ecosystem. Awards included six from the Minister of SMEs and Startups, seven from the Chairperson of the Creative Economy Innovation Center, and ten from the President of the Early Stage Investment Accelerator Association.
Additionally, a special session in the second part featured a dedication ceremony titled 'A Star of Innovation in the Startup Investment Ecosystem.' The ceremony honored Ko Young-ha, the President of the Korea Angel Investment Association, for his dedication to revitalizing the angel investment industry in South Korea and advancing the TIPS program and accelerator policies, with a plaque of appreciation presented from the entire startup investment ecosystem.
The Early Stage Investment Accelerator Association stated that it plans to continue expanding cooperation with related organizations to strengthen the competitiveness of the domestic startup ecosystem and ensure sustainable development, as well as to continuously operate various awards and networking events.
