SK Magic announced on the 19th that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Korea Employment Agency for the Disabled to promote the establishment of a subsidiary-type standard establishment for creating jobs for people with disabilities.
The signing ceremony, held on the 18th at SK Magic's headquarters in Jung-gu, Seoul, was attended by over 10 stakeholders, including SK Magic CEO Kim Wan-sung and Korea Employment Agency for the Disabled Chairman Lee Jong-sung. SK Magic and the Korea Employment Agency for the Disabled agreed to closely cooperate to ensure the smooth establishment of the subsidiary-type standard establishment for people with disabilities.
A subsidiary-type standard establishment refers to an establishment created in an enterprise to generate jobs and expand employment for people with disabilities, providing a disability-friendly working environment and playing a pivotal role in creating jobs for people with disabilities in the local community.
SK Magic aims to establish a subsidiary-type standard establishment by June next year, enhancing its ESG management and creating social value through expanded employment for people with disabilities and community development. The plan involves transferring the production processes of DPC (Digital Packing Center) and RSP (Rental Service Packing), located within the Hwaseong campus, to a wholly-owned subsidiary to create jobs for people with disabilities. Additionally, it plans to gradually expand employment by discovering and developing customized jobs for people with disabilities, while also working on improving employee awareness of disabilities.
CEO Kim Wan-sung noted, "I expect this will be a good opportunity to expand the breadth of ESG management through job creation for people with disabilities and the creation of social value," adding, "SK Magic will do its utmost to protect socially vulnerable groups, including people with disabilities, and to contribute to the coexistence and development of the local community."
