The donation signing ceremony held on the 19th at the office of the president of Hankuk University of Foreign Studies was attended by Chairman Kwon, President Park Jeong-woon, Vice President Kim Chun-sik, Vice President Kim Min-jeong, and Director Hong Seong-min.

The donated funds will be used for improving the educational environment and providing scholarships. Of the total, 150 million won will be allocated for updating educational equipment and renovating old facilities, while 50 million won will be used for living support scholarships awarded annually to four students.

Chairman Kwon noted, "It is a natural duty as a senior in life to return the benefits received from society to future generations," and expressed hope that this donation would serve as a foundation for healthy growth in our society.

In honor of Chairman Kwon's intention to nurture future generations, Hankuk University of Foreign Studies will create and dedicate a plaque engraved with his likeness in the Hall of Fame on the first floor of the university's main building.

Chairman Kwon launched the HD Hyundai 1% Sharing Foundation in 2011, where employees of the HD Hyundai Group donate 1% of their salaries, and he serves as chairman. He recently established the HD Hyundai Hope Foundation to support bereaved families affected by serious industrial accidents at shipyards, using his personal funds.
