Doosan Robotics announced on the 18th that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with LBM, a food service company that operates the London Bagel Museum, for the joint development of production process robot solutions aimed at ensuring employee health and preventing safety accidents.

The London Bagel Museum is a bakery brand that first opened in 2021 in Anguk-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul. It has gained fame for its vintage-inspired interior that seemingly transports visitors to London, and it operates a total of six locations in South Korea.

This agreement was established to enhance operational convenience during cooking processes, prevent safety accidents, and improve employee job satisfaction. LBM will conduct a detailed analysis of the production process to identify areas where employees face difficulties, and Doosan Robotics plans to develop customized collaborative robot solutions for those processes.

In particular, they decided to prioritize the development of collaborative robot solutions for processes where safety accidents are a concern due to repetitive motions, vapor exposure, and risks of musculoskeletal and respiratory diseases, as well as burns. These include the ▲large dough mixing process ▲the boiling process where bagels are submerged in hot water ▲the oven process, which has high fatigue due to difficult height adjustments ▲the logistics input process requiring the transportation of weights over 20 kg ▲and the measuring process.

A representative of Doosan Robotics noted, "Doosan Robotics' collaborative robots have attained industry-leading safety certifications (PLe, Cat4), food hygiene safety certification from the U.S. National Sanitation Foundation, and high waterproof and dustproof ratings (IP66), so we expect to fully meet the needs of our clients."
