Hanwha Aerospace plans to appoint Michael Coulter, former global CEO of Leonardo DRS, as the representative director in charge of overseas business to strengthen its global defense capabilities, the company announced on the 16th. Coulter, the designated appointee, will oversee Hanwha Group's global defense business, including Hanwha Aerospace.

He majored in political science at the University of Maryland and has led the company's global business as global CEO and senior vice president of business development at Italy's global defense corporation Leonardo DRS until recently. Previously, he oversaw global business development at General Dynamics.

Before joining the corporations, Coulter held key government positions, including Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for political-military affairs, Acting Assistant Secretary of Defense, and Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for international security. He also worked with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and the Joint Chiefs of Staff in the Navy.

Coulter expressed his commitment by saying, “I will dedicate myself to Hanwha's defense vision of protecting the free world through global security solutions, based on the experience and capabilities accumulated in the global defense industry.”

A Hanwha Aerospace official noted, “With the recruitment of CEO Coulter, we aim to provide integrated land, sea, and air solutions centered around key global markets like the United States and grow into a world-class defense corporations.”
