The Korea Women Entrepreneurs Association (hereinafter referred to as "KWEA") announced on the 16th that Park Chang-sook, CEO of Changwoo Textile Co., Ltd., has been elected as the 11th president of the association.

During the 2024 national general meeting held at the CCMM Building in Yeouido, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, the KWEA elected current first vice president Park Chang-sook as the 11th president of the association with the support of a majority of the registered delegates. Her term will last three years, starting from Jan. 1, 2025.

Park Chang-sook, the incoming president, is the CEO of Changwoo Textile Co., Ltd., making her the first female chief executive officer (CEO) in the domestic knitting industry.

Having joined the KWEA in 2014, she served as the second branch president of the KWEA North Gyeonggi branch for three years from 2016 to 2018.

Park Chang-sook noted, "As a businessperson for 34 years, I have grown my corporation through my activities with the KWEA, and I will create a bigger and stronger KWEA through change, challenge, and unity."

The KWEA is the only statutory women's economic organization in Korea, established in 1999 under the Act on Support for Women Entrepreneurs. It represents 3.26 million women entrepreneurs and carries out various projects to enhance the interests of women entrepreneurs and promote their activities.
