Chair Koh Young-cheol of the National Credit Union Federation of Korea (Shinhyup) was elected the new chair of the Association of Asian Confederation of Credit Unions (ACCU).
The National Credit Union Federation of Korea said on the 14th that Koh was elected as the new chair at the ACCU general assembly held on the 13th. The term runs from this year through 2028.
Koh attended the 2026 Asian Credit Union Forum and the 45th annual general meeting held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from the 11th to the 13th, and discussed financial innovation plans with credit union officials from across Asia.
This year's forum drew 571 credit union officials from 22 Asian countries and was held under the theme, "Unspoken reality, bold consolidation: Transformation and resilience of credit unions in the 2026+ era."
Koh said, "We will share the Korean credit union's accumulated experience in mutual growth and cooperation with member countries and work to enhance the competitiveness and sustainability of Asian credit unions."
