Lawmakers of the Democratic Party of Korea and the Korea Fintech Industry Association (KORFIN) held a National Assembly forum on "Digital asset finance innovation cases and response strategies" on the 10th at Post Tower in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul.

The forum was organized to discuss new technologies and systems as the boundary between traditional finance and the digital asset market narrows, and to consider how to design the infrastructure.

The forum was held under the theme "Global digital asset regulatory changes and ways to secure the competitiveness of the domestic financial industry." The order consisted of global regulatory trends for digital assets, the development and institutionalization of digital asset ETFs, innovative cases in digital asset asset management, and a panel discussion. Attorney Kim Hyo-bong of BAE, KIM & LEE LLC; Department Head Kim Wan-sung of Koscom; Senior Manager Im Min-ho of Mirae Asset Securities; Chair Oh Jong-uk of the Digital Asset Infrastructure Council; and CEO Kim Nam-ung of Populus participated as panelists.

Rep. Ahn Do-geol of the Democratic Party of Korea, who delivered the opening remarks, said, "Institutionalizing digital assets and financial products based on them is no longer a task that can be delayed," adding, "I hope this will be a venue to explore institutional design measures that secure opportunities for financial innovation while preparing for potential risks, rather than vague regulations or indiscriminate deregulation."

Kim Jong-hyun, president of the Korea Fintech Industry Association (KORFIN), who delivered congratulatory remarks, said, "New roles and business models are expected to emerge in various areas," adding, "We will do our part so that cooperation between financial companies and the Fintech and digital asset sectors can lead to new businesses and results."
