Pantos Corporation, led by Chair Ku Bon-ho of the LG-affiliated group, will become the largest shareholder of KOSDAQ-listed THECODI(224060).
THECODI said in a filing on the 8th that it will change the recipient of a 7 billion won third-party allotment paid-in capital increase from K-Sin Growth Equity to Pantos Corporation. If this paid-in capital increase is carried out, Pantos Corporation will become THECODI's largest shareholder.
Through this paid-in capital increase, THECODI will issue 2,219,403 new shares. The issue price is 3,154 won per share.
With the recipient of the paid-in capital increase changed to Pantos Corporation, the industry is taking notice. There are also expectations for additional investment and business expansion by the Pantos group centered on Pantos Holdings, Chair Ku's private company.
THECODI plans to use the proceeds from this paid-in capital increase as operating funds. However, there is also a possibility the funds will be used for business restructuring and entry into new businesses.
In the industry, THECODI is expected to expand into growth businesses such as robotics, AI, and automation with Chair Ku's investment. That is because it can create synergies with THECODI's main businesses of semiconductor manufacturing equipment and IT components. As it seeks to grow not only in hardware but also in software, data, and logistics, additional M&A is also being discussed as a possibility.
