Manho Rope & Wire said on the 7th that it will strengthen industry-academia cooperation with Changwon National University's Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation to develop future technologies, discover new businesses, and nurture local talent.
This agreement was prepared to link the manufacturing and technological capabilities Manho Rope & Wire and its affiliates have in materials, precision machining, and control with Changwon National University's research and education infrastructure and experts, in order to activate joint technology development and the discovery of new businesses, and to train practice-oriented talent needed by local industry.
Through the agreement, the two institutions plan to cooperate on ▲ exchanges of technology and research information ▲ joint research and technology development ▲ discovery of new businesses and industry-academia cooperation projects ▲ field training and industry-academia-linked education ▲ nurturing talent for regional industrial development.
In particular, Manho Rope & Wire and its affiliates plan to use this agreement as a starting point to gradually expand cooperation with Changwon National University and build a sustainable industry-academia cooperation system that leads to "joint technology development, field training, commercialization, and talent development."
In particular, the MH Group is building an industrial value chain that connects "materials–precision machining–artificial intelligence (AI) control–system integration," centered on Manho Rope & Wire in the fiber rope, wire rope, and special alloy materials sectors; MH Dynamics in actuator precision components, defense, and advanced mobility; and MH Systems in industrial control technologies such as robots and energy storage system (ESS) controllers.
With this industry-academia cooperation as a starting point, the two institutions will explore the potential for joint technology development and commercialization in future industries such as small modular reactors (SMR) and cooling for heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) and data centers.
They also plan to join forces in nurturing local talent. Field training and industry-academia-linked education will be expanded so that Changwon National University students can directly experience the research and development and manufacturing sites of Manho Rope & Wire and its affiliates. In addition, the plan is to cultivate practice-oriented talent needed by corporations and build a virtuous cycle that connects to employment at local corporations.
