Kim Byung-eun, an executive director at DB Insurance who is the nephew of DB Group founder-chair Kim Joon-ki and the cousin of DB Group honorary chair Kim Nam-ho, was promoted to vice president.
According to the insurance industry on the 7th, Kim Byung-eun, a vice president from the DB Group owner family, was recently appointed head of corporate planning, the core planning line at DB Insurance. After becoming an executive in 2021 overseeing corporate marketing, Kim was promoted to executive director in 2022 and has now taken the vice president post.
Born in 1976, Vice President Kim has broad experience at DB Insurance across key roles including retail and corporate sales and management. Going forward, Kim plans to oversee major companywide management functions, including stock and bond issuance; board and governance internal rules; environmental, social and governance (ESG); organization management; and information technology (IT) operations management.
The latest personnel move appears to follow the appointment of former DB Insurance corporate planning head Park Je-gwang as the new CEO-designate of DB Life. Park, the CEO-designate, has served as DB Insurance's head of corporate planning since Dec. 2022 and is slated to be formally appointed as CEO on the 16th after DB Life's shareholders' meeting and board meeting.
