Visual effects (VFX) specialist M eighty-three said on the 3rd that it unveiled an AI-based patent work solution, "IP-DO," in collaboration with AI research and development subsidiaries Dblatt and Peachtree.
M eighty-three said it showcased IP-DO at the International Patent Information Expo (PATINEX) 2026, held from the 2nd to today.
According to the company, IP-DO is a platform tailored to patent work that applies Multimodal AI search technology developed by M eighty-three and Dblatt. Based on demand at content production sites, the two companies are expanding AI search technology into the patent and intellectual property (IP) field and scaling up their business-to-business (B2B) AI software business.
IP-DO consists of two parts: "IP-DO Web" and "IP-DO Task."
IP-DO Web is a website-building platform that allows universities, research institutes, and corporations to more easily search the patent asset they hold and quickly identify patents needed for technology transfer.
IP-DO Task is a solution in which AI automatically analyzes emails generated during the patent work process to help manage related tasks.
According to the company, M eighty-three is promoting commercialization of its in-house AI technology and expansion of applicable industries with Dblatt at the center. Leveraging experience accumulated in content production and AI capabilities, it aims to develop solutions applicable to various industries such as patents and IP and expand the group-level AI software business portfolio.
This solution was developed with M eighty-three and Dblatt designing and developing the product and Peachtree identifying customer demand.
Choi Wan-ho, CEO of Dblatt, said, "Using participation in PATINEX as a starting point, we plan to actively introduce IP-DO to corporations and institutions related to patents and IP and move into full-fledged commercialization," adding, "We will expand our in-house AI technology into solutions that can be applied to work environments across various industries to strengthen the M eighty-three group's AI software business competitiveness."
