The Korea Federation of Banks said on the 1st that it appointed Woo Sang-hyun, 61, a former BC Card vice president, as executive managing director. Woo, the new executive managing director, graduated from Dongnae High School in Busan and the Department of Economics at Seoul National University. Entering public service in 1989 by passing the 33rd higher civil service exam, Woo worked at the former Ministry of Planning and Budget and the Financial Services Commission.
After finishing as Director General of the Secretariat at the Financial Services Commission in 2015, Woo left public service and worked at Hyundai Capital and Hyundai Card, and served as BC Card vice president from 2022 to this year. Meanwhile, Bae Jun-seok, auditor at the Korea Federation of Banks, completed a three-year term in July, and the process to select a successor is underway.
