Meritz Securities on the 1st officially launched a new financial platform, "MOUM." MOUM is a platform that combines investment information, a global community, and artificial intelligence (AI) services with the stock trading functions of the existing mobile trading system (MTS).
Meritz Securities held a "MOUM launch event" on the morning of the 1st at Fairmont Ambassador Seoul in Yeouido, Seoul, and stated accordingly. Meritz Securities prepared the new platform for about 1 year and 6 months.
The company said MOUM not only offers simple stock trading functions but also brings together investment information, AI analysis, and community features in one place. While transacting Korean and U.S. stocks, users can view domestic and overseas news, disclosures, and earnings information summarized and analyzed by AI, and, by linking with U.S. local communities, communicate with global investors.
Investors can use major services without a separate login, and with a social login, they can participate in community activities as associate members. If they link the existing online-only comprehensive investment account Super365, they are converted to full members and can check, on a single screen, not only stock trading functions but also information related to their holdings and AI analysis.
For example, an investor holding Nvidia shares can check on MOUM Nvidia's earnings announcements, AI Semiconductor demand, and news about new products. At the same time, they can also look at the reactions of domestic and overseas investors to these developments.
In particular, it cited the global investment community as a key differentiator. Meritz Securities linked the communities of the U.S. social investment platform Stocktwits and the global Fintech company Webull to MOUM's own stock communities.
It also strengthened its investment information service using finance-specialized AI. When Meritz Securities customers connect their accounts, they can check in one place, together with AI analysis, investment information that had been scattered across various sources such as news related to their holdings and watchlists, community posts, and alerts. They can also ask additional questions via AI chat. It also provides market conditions and stock news in short-form videos of about one minute.
MOUM was built as a cloud-based open platform. Meritz Securities said it maximized the scalability and flexibility of the cloud environment in collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS). It also said it was recognized for its technical capabilities and was selected for "Win-Wires," an AWS global best practice, the first among domestic financial companies.
Lee Jang-uk, head of the Inno-biz division who led the platform development, said, "M MOUM aimed to go beyond a conventional trading app of a securities firm," adding, "Rather than merely adding one AI function, our direction is to evolve into a next-generation open platform where diverse services are organically connected."
Chief Executive Officer Jang Won-jae of Meritz Securities said, "We have thought hard about how to create a vessel that can capture the new investment environment and concluded that it could not be solved by fixing the existing trading system," adding, "What MOUM pursues is not a simple stock trading app but the creation of an investment ecosystem where participants breathe together on the platform."
Meanwhile, MOUM is expected to be operated in parallel with the existing Meritz MTS.
