Samsung Electronics(005930) and SK hynix are both trading in slightly positive territory. They are each trading around 250,000 won and 1.68 million won.
New York stocks all closed higher overnight. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.3% to 53,577.4, the Standard & Poor's (S&P) index rose 0.32% to 7,677.28, and the Nasdaq rose 0.66% to 26,151.3.
Chip stocks, in particular, rebounded. Nvidia ended a seven-transaction-day losing streak and closed up 2.19% at $213.05. AMD rose 4%.
It is seen as influenced by the declines in international oil prices and U.S. Government Bonds yields. The United States announced economic sanctions on Iran, and there was a report that Iran and Oman are discussing a plan to establish a temporary route through the Strait of Hormuz.
