Independent research firm Aris said on the 21st that for GalaxiaMoneytree(094480), both annual revenue and operating profit are expected to hit all-time highs this year.
GalaxiaMoneytree operates an electronic payment business that provides mobile phone payments and credit card payments, as well as online-offline connected services such as mobile gift certificates and coupons, convenience store–based prepaid payment services, and Moneytree. Recently, based on its payment and settlement infrastructure, it has been pushing forward with security token offerings (STOs) and a stablecoin business.
Aris researcher Lee Jae-mo said, "GalaxiaMoneytree posted 71.1 billion won in revenue and 10.2 billion won in operating profit in the first half of this year, continuing growth in both scale and profitability," and added, "for the first time since its founding, it surpassed 10 billion won in operating profit on a half-year basis."
Lee said, "If the Digital Asset Basic Act (the second-stage virtual asset law) and bills related to a won-denominated stablecoin are fleshed out, the business value of GalaxiaMoneytree, which has proactively built payment infrastructure, could come to the fore," adding, "taking into account the effect of new merchants, this year's revenue will reach 150 billion won and operating profit 22 billion won, setting all-time highs."
