KB Securities said on the 20th that it will promote the "support program for overdue health insurance premiums for low-income vulnerable groups" starting this month. Now in its third year, the program was prepared to help vulnerable people who struggle to access medical services due to livelihood-related overdue health insurance premiums get back on their feet.
Starting this year, the scope of support was expanded from the youth to vulnerable groups facing various difficulties such as welfare and employment.
Those eligible are low-income vulnerable people among applicants whose debt adjustment has been finalized by the Credit Counseling & Recovery Service (CCRS), who have been in arrears on health insurance premiums for three months or more, and whose overdue amount is 2.5 million won or less. KB Securities plans to support up to 500,000 won per person for overdue health insurance premiums.
For the remaining overdue amount, it will help with installment repayment for up to 24 months in connection with the National Health Insurance Service.
Kang Jin-du, CEO of KB Securities, said, "We hope that neighbors in vulnerable groups who are in the medical blind spot due to livelihood-related overdue health insurance premiums will regain a basic social safety net through this support and gain the courage to try again," adding, "We will continue to spare no support so that neighbors in need can return to society as economic actors."
