KB Financial Group said on the 17th that it will systematically reflect nature-related risks and opportunities in financial decision-making.
KB Financial Group on the same day published the "2025 KB Financial Group natural capital disclosure report—nature and consolidation of finance" and stated accordingly that it would support the sustainable transition of industries through productive finance. KB Financial Group also said it would expand the role of finance so that young people, local communities, and small and midsize businesses can grow together with nature through inclusive finance. Natural capital refers to the essential base of economic activity, such as land, water, and biodiversity.
In this report, KB Financial Group cited materials, consumer discretionary, and industrials as core industry groups that require priority management because both natural capital risk and exposure are high. It added that it is continuing to strengthen its natural capital risk management framework for the portfolio through ongoing monitoring of the three core industry groups.
KB Financial Group said it managed and operated ESG financial products totaling 2.08 trillion won in environmental products, investments, and loans as of the end of last year. It aims to expand that to 2.5 trillion won by 2030.
