Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI) added LG Innotek(011070) to the Korea Index constituents.
Meanwhile, four stocks, including HLB(028300), LG Display(034220), POSCO International , and Samsung Epis Holdings(0126Z0), were excluded.
On the 13th, MSCI, a global equity index provider, announced the results of its August regular review and said it adjusted the Korea Index constituents accordingly.
MSCI conducts regular reviews in February, May, August, and November each year to adjust index constituents based on total market capitalization and free-float market capitalization.
When a stock is added to the MSCI Korea Index, inflows of global passive funds that track the index can occur. Conversely, when a stock is removed, outflows are possible.
Meanwhile, the index rebalancing is scheduled for after the close on the 31st.
