Digital finance corporations GalaxiaMoneytree(094480) said on the 13th it will expand cooperation with the global artificial intelligence (AI·Artificial Intelligence) ecosystem and move to identify next-generation payment models for the era of AI agents (AI AI Agent·software that uses artificial intelligence to achieve goals and perform tasks on behalf of users).
The company will attend "MCP Dev Summit Korea 2026," hosted by the Linux Foundation and held at the Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas through the 14th of this month, to discuss AI agent-based payment technology and cooperation plans with officials from the Agentic AI Foundation (AAIF).
The participation came at the suggestion of AAIF, which noted GalaxiaMoneytree's experience in payments and prepaid businesses and its involvement in the x402 ecosystem. GalaxiaMoneytree officially joined the "x402 Foundation" in July. More than 40 corporations, including Google, Visa, Mastercard, Amazon Web Services, and Ripple, have joined the x402 Foundation. In Korea, Kakao Pay(377300), GalaxiaMoneytree, and Hecto Financial(234340) are participating.
Under the x402 protocol (Protocol·a set of rules agreed upon to transmit and receive data between computers), AI agents become the payment actors. When a buyer instructs an AI agent to initiate a payment task, the AI agent pays using dollar stablecoins loaded in a dedicated wallet. AI agents can operate even while people sleep, enabling fast checkout for limited editions or brief special-sale items.
GalaxiaMoneytree and AAIF will discuss ways to link the x402 protocol with existing payment and settlement infrastructure at real-world merchants. They plan to review conditions for existing merchants to accept a transaction initiated by an AI agent and merchant settlement methods to apply it to actual commerce environments.
In particular, they will discuss ways for AI agents to choose and pay with various payment instruments—not only cash but also points, coupons, and prepaid balances—according to users' goals and situations. GalaxiaMoneytree also plans to propose using its subsidiary's virtual asset "Galaxia (GXA)" as a reward instrument in the AI payment ecosystem.
