Financial information company FnGuide said on the 10th that it appointed Kim Tae-woo, formerly of Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI), as the new head of the index business division to strengthen competitiveness in its index business and expand its global operations.
Head Kim Tae-woo is a finance and index specialist with about 20 years of experience in finance and information technology (IT). After working in the asset management division at Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance, Kim oversaw sales for 10 years at MSCI across Korea's index business and ESG and climate change, risk analytics, and alternative asset solutions. Kim also took part in developing and launching a range of exchange-traded fund (ETF) and exchange-traded note (ETN) products based on domestic and overseas market representative, thematic, and ESG indexes.
FnGuide said, "With Kim's appointment as division head, we will expand new index development that reflects market changes and investor demand and accelerate financial productization," adding, "We expect Kim to lead the growth of the index business and the discovery of new business opportunities based on expertise and networks built in global markets."
