Toss Securities surpassed 10 million cumulative subscribers 5 years and 4 months after launching its mobile trading system (MTS).
Toss Securities said on the 6th that, as of last month, the number of customers holding accounts topped 10 million. After reaching 7 million cumulative subscribers in Jun. last year, an additional 3 million joined in 13 months. Last month's monthly active users (MAU) totaled 6.5 million.
Along with the rise in subscribers, the customer age range is widening. The share of people in their 20s and 30s, who made up about 70% of all subscribers early on, has fallen to about 50% now. In contrast, subscribers in their 40s and older have expanded to about 43% of the total.
New inflows from middle-aged and older groups also stood out. In the first half of this year, new subscribers in their 50s increased about threefold from a year earlier, and those in their 60s and older rose about fourfold. That is a higher growth rate than those in their 20s, who roughly doubled over the same period.
Toss Securities said its intuitive interface and user experience, along with improved access to investment information, helped expand its customer base. While operating mobile and PC trading services, it has also been rolling out artificial intelligence-based investment information services in stages since last year, including "AI earnings call" and "AI signal."
Kim Kyu-bin, CEO of Toss Securities, said, "The 10 million cumulative subscribers reflect each customer's trust in choosing Toss Securities," adding, "We will continue to enhance access to investment information based on customers' feedback and grow into a trusted platform where anyone can invest easily and conveniently."
