Bitcoin is moving sideways around the $63,000 level. Although New York stocks rebounded overnight on easing Middle East tensions, investor sentiment was seen as constrained by news of additional selling by Strategy, the world's largest bitcoin-holding corporations.
As of 8:35 a.m. on the 4th, bitcoin was trading at $63,458.4, down 0.09% from 24 hours earlier, according to global virtual asset market tracker CoinMarketCap.
Ethereum, the No. 2 by market cap, fell 1.36% to $1,856.82. Binance Coin rose 0.26% to $589.19, Ripple fell 0.87% to $1.07, and Solana was down 0.15% and is trading at $73.39.
Overnight, New York stocks rose across the board after President Trump said he would delay additional attacks on Iran and push for negotiations. The Standard & Poor's (S&P) 500 index climbed 1.48% from the previous trading day, and the Nasdaq composite index rose 2.13%.
However, in the bitcoin market, news of additional selling by Strategy limited the upside. Strategy sold 1,637 bitcoins last week for about $102.4 million. Part of the proceeds was used to pay preferred stock dividends, and the rest was used to repurchase STRC, a high-dividend preferred stock.
