Korea Exchange (KRX) will newly list 18 single-stock futures and 2 single-stock options next month.
Korea Exchange (KRX) said on the 4th that on Sept. 14 it will add single-stock futures based on four stocks from the KOSPI market and 14 from the KOSDAQ market. It will also list single-stock options based on Hyosung Heavy Industries and Hyundai AutoEver.
This adjustment reflects the regular rebalancing results of benchmark indexes such as the KOSPI200 and KOSDAQ150 in June. The exchange said it selected new targets from among the constituents added to the benchmark indexes that met the criteria for underlying stocks for single-stock futures.
In the KOSPI market, four stocks—DB HiTek, HD Construction Equipment, OCI, and d'Alba Global—will be newly included as underlying stocks for single-stock futures.
In the KOSDAQ market, 14 stocks—BHI, SeoJin System, Sungho Electronics, SPG, Aimed Bio, Orum Therapeutics, Oscotec, OliX Pharmaceuticals, Woori Technology, Wonik Holdings, Taesung, PSK Holdings, HANA Micron, and Hyundai Movex—will be added.
The new listings for single-stock options are Hyosung Heavy Industries and Hyundai AutoEver. The exchange said the selection was made by comprehensively considering market capitalization, trading value, and market demand among the existing underlying stocks for single-stock futures.
Meanwhile, 10 stocks excluded from the benchmark indexes will also be removed from the list of underlying stocks for single-stock futures. In the KOSPI market, Grand Korea Leisure, GS Engineering & Construction, GC Corp., and Sebang Global Battery will be excluded; in the KOSDAQ market, Golfzon, Dongkook Pharmaceutical, Medytox, Seoul Semiconductor, EcoPro HN, and Kolmar BNH will be excluded.
Single-stock futures on those stocks can be traded until the 10th of next month, the final trading day for September contracts.
With this adjustment, the number of listed single-stock futures will increase from 274 to 282. Single-stock options will also expand from 64 to 66.
