The Korean Federation of Community Credit Cooperatives (KFCC) said on the 29th it delivered a donation of 200 million won to the Environmental Foundation and will push the "MG neighborhood eco-friendly senior center program."
The program aims to improve energy efficiency at aging senior centers and enhance living conditions for older adults. The plan is to achieve both carbon-neutral practices and stronger community welfare.
The Korean Federation of Community Credit Cooperatives (KFCC) will select candidate senior centers based on recommendations from regional headquarters nationwide and KFCC branches, and finalize 13 sites for support after on-site inspections. It will then provide green remodeling tailored to each facility's characteristics.
Key support items include installing high-efficiency heating and cooling systems, replacing insulated windows and doors, and building solar power systems. Rest areas and convenience facilities will also be upgraded so older adults can use the centers in a safer, more comfortable environment.
Kim In, head of the Korean Federation of Community Credit Cooperatives (KFCC), said, "We will support improvements to aging senior centers so older adults can live in a safer, more comfortable environment," adding, "We will continue mutually beneficial finance with the community and carry out social contribution activities that help neighborhoods across the region."
