The KOSPI index is down more than 9% on the 28th morning. A sell-sidecar and a circuit breaker were triggered one after another, but it has not been enough to stop panic selling in the market. The KOSDAQ index is also down more than 7%, barely holding the 700 level.
As of 11:37 a.m., the KOSPI index is at 6,119.45, down 9.42% (636.30 points) from the previous trading day.
The KOSPI index opened at 6,400.27, down 355.48 points (5.26%) from the previous day, and is extending losses. Although a sell-sidecar and a circuit breaker were triggered in succession during the morning session, selling has hardly abated.
In the main board, foreigners and institutions are dragging the market down. Foreigners are net sellers of 2.2283 trillion won and institutions 108.7 billion won, while individuals alone are net buyers of 2.3277 trillion won.
Most of the top market-cap stocks on the main board are falling. In particular, Samsung Electronics and SK hynix are down about 10% and 12%, respectively. SK Square, Samsung Electro-Mechanics, Hyundai Motor, LG Energy Solution, KB Financial Group, and Samsung Life Insurance are also plunging, while Samsung Biologics alone is slightly firmer.
At the same time, the KOSDAQ index is at 706.2, down 7.67% (58.66 points) from the previous day.
In the KOSDAQ market, individuals are net buyers of 120.5 billion won, while foreigners and institutions are net sellers of 46.4 billion won and 72.4 billion won, respectively.
Top market-cap stocks on the KOSDAQ are all falling. Led by Alteogen, EcoPro, EcoPro BM, Rainbow Robotics, Jusung Engineering, LEENO Industrial, Wonik IPS, HLB, ABL Bio, and PharmaResearch are all down.
