The domestic stock market is widening losses during morning trading on the 16th. The KOSPI fell more than 7%, slipping to the 6,770 level, and the KOSDAQ is also trading below 800. A sell sidecar was triggered on both markets.
As of 11:20 a.m. that day, the KOSPI was down 7.06% (514.21 points) from the previous trading day at 6,770.2. The KOSPI started at 6,960.50, down 323.91 points (4.45%) from the previous trading day, and has been deepening its losses.
In the main board, individuals are net buying 2.3823 trillion won, while foreigners and institutions are net selling 1.1520 trillion won and 1.2697 trillion won, respectively.
Large-cap stocks on the main board are all falling. In particular, SK hynix(000660) and SK Square(402340) are down around 10% and 11%, respectively. In addition, including Samsung Electronics(005930), Samsung Electro-Mechanics, Hyundai Motor, LG Energy Solution, Samsung Life Insurance, KB Financial Group, and Samsung Biologics are also declining.
At the same time, the KOSDAQ was down 39.07 points (4.71%) from the previous day at 790.36. The KOSDAQ opened the session at 813.32, down 16.11 points (1.94%) from the previous day.
On the KOSDAQ, individuals are net buying 283.5 billion won, while foreigners and institutions are net selling 229.7 billion won and 58.0 billion won, respectively.
Most top KOSDAQ large caps are also falling. With Alteogen, EcoPro BM, EcoPro, Jusung Engineering, Rainbow Robotics, Wonik IPS, Kolon TissueGene, PSK, and LEENO Industrial declining, HLB alone is up about 6%.
As the market plunged in the morning, the exchange sequentially triggered sell sidecars on the main board and the KOSDAQ. A sell sidecar was applied to the main board at 9:10 a.m., and to the KOSDAQ at 10:20 a.m., 1 hour and 10 minutes later. It came just a day after buy sidecars were triggered on both markets.
