KOSDAQ Association said on the 13th it donated a total of 371 million won in "Smile Love" sponsorship funds. The aim is to support children who struggle to receive treatment due to financial hardship and neighbors in need.
KOSDAQ Association issued a press release that day and stated accordingly. The sponsorship funds will be delivered to 16 hospitals and social welfare groups nationwide, including Seoul National University Children's Hospital, Yonsei University Health System, Hallym Burn Foundation, Seoul St. Mary's Hospital, Seoul Metropolitan Children's Hospital, and Korea Pediatric Cancer Foundation.
The donated funds will be used for various programs for children in vulnerable groups, such as medical expense support and welfare enhancement.
The "Smile Love" sponsorship is a flagship corporate social responsibility program that KOSDAQ Association has promoted every year with KOSDAQ-listed companies. It was prepared to provide practical help to children burdened by treatment costs and to put the social responsibility of corporations into practice.
Since 2006, KOSDAQ Association has delivered a total of 3.66 billion won in sponsorship funds.
KOSDAQ Association President Lee Dong-hoon said, "We hope the warm sharing by KOSDAQ-listed companies will bring hope to children in need," adding, "KOSDAQ Association will continue diverse social contribution activities to put the social responsibility of corporations into practice and to spread a culture of sharing."
