Starting in September, Hana Financial Group will phase in 2,200 employees from 10 affiliates, including Hana Financial Group and Hana Bank, at the Cheongna Group Headquarters established in Cheongna International City, Seo District, Incheon. The Cheongna Hana Dream Town development project, which has been underway since 2012, will be completed after 15 years.
According to Hana Financial Group on the 9th, the Cheongna Group Headquarters was completed on May 21. It has seven floors underground and 15 above ground, with a total floor area of 128,503 square meters. With the completion of the Group Headquarters, the third phase of the Hana Dream Town project has wrapped up, following the integrated data center (2017) and Hana Global Campus (2019).
From September, 2,200 employees from 10 affiliates, including Hana Financial Group and Hana Bank, as well as Hana Securities, Hana Card, Hana Capital, Hana Life, Hana Savings Bank, Hana Fund Service, Hana F&I, and Hana Financial TI, will move in. Including existing staff already working in Cheongna, about 4,000 finance professionals will be based there.
In 2012, Hana Financial Group unveiled a long-term plan to cultivate Cheongna in Incheon as the group's core base outside Seoul. The investment reflects growth potential centered on Incheon International Airport, Incheon Port, and the Incheon Free Economic Zone.
At the integrated data center completed in 2017, the IT infrastructure of major affiliates—banking, securities, cards, and insurance—was integrated, and about 1,800 IT staff work there. Opened in 2019, the Hana Global Campus has also served as a facility for nurturing financial talent and a space supporting the local community.
Hana Financial Group plans to use this Group Headquarters transfer as a turning point to accelerate collaboration among affiliates and the artificial intelligence transformation (AX). By bringing the holding company and major affiliates together in one place, it aims to maximize sales efficiency and productivity in its collaboration framework.
In addition, through organic collaboration between the Hana Institute of Finance and Technology, an AI and data think tank, and each affiliate, the group plans to internalize its digital DNA, strengthen capabilities in new businesses such as AX and stablecoins, and elevate its function as a single, integrated digital company as much as possible. As organizations dispersed across Seoul, including the Myeong-dong headquarters building, gather in one place, decision-making speed and collaboration effects are also expected to improve significantly.
Ham Young-joo, chairman of Hana Financial Group, said, "The Cheongna headquarters transfer will be more than a simple spatial reshuffle; it will serve as an opportunity to innovate how we work and our culture," adding, "We will successfully complete a financial transformation that encompasses customers, the local community, and employees, and prepare for the group's next 100 years."
