SG, a company specializing in asphalt concrete, was up more than 12% early on the 8th on news it will be the sole supplier of asphalt concrete to SK hynix's Yongin advanced system semiconductor cluster.
As of 9:38 a.m. that day on the KOSDAQ market, SG was trading at 1,704 won, up 195 won (12.92%) from the previous session.
That day, SG said it is the exclusive supplier of asphalt concrete to the SK hynix Yongin cluster construction site. SG is also pushing to supply Eco Steel Asphalt Concrete, an eco-friendly product, to Samsung Electronics' Pyeongtaek Campus Semiconductor Plant 5 (P5).
The SK hynix Yongin advanced system semiconductor cluster is a national strategic project with a total budget of 122 trillion won.
SG said it has participated since the early stage of this project and earned recognition for quality competitiveness and on-site tailored technical support capabilities. Based on this, it plans to play a stable role in the supply chain as infrastructure is built for the core semiconductor production complex.
SG also completed a trial paving of Eco Steel Asphalt Concrete at the Samsung Electronics Pyeongtaek Campus P5 site on the 15th to 17th of last month. Test results showed Eco Steel Asphalt Concrete achieved excellent scores across key quality indicators such as density, compaction, and stability. Compared with ordinary asphalt concrete, durability was about 4.5 times higher and service life was about 2.3 times longer, according to an SG official.
