NH Investment & Securities said on the 30th that it held an extraordinary shareholders meeting and officially appointed Shin Jae-uk and Bae Kwang-soo as co-CEOs. NH Investment & Securities earlier completed the final appointment process at the shareholders meeting that day after recommendations by the Nominating Committee and approval by an emergency board meeting.
NH Investment & Securities said it shifted to a co-CEO system to strengthen expertise and responsible management by business institutional sector. In their inaugural remarks, the two new CEOs said, "The co-CEO system is not a structure that splits the company in two; it is an operating system in which each person's expertise and responsibility are made clear, while the company's overall performance is achieved as one," adding, "We will make authority and decision-making clearer and faster, while sharing the final results and responsibility."
The two co-CEOs also presented five key management directions. First, they picked "strengthening synergy between businesses" and "enhancing capital efficiency" as the top priorities. The two CEOs said, "The synergy we are pursuing is a virtuous-cycle integrated growth structure in which the expansion of client assets leads to the early capture of quality investment opportunities in corporate finance and improved operating performance, and the heightened operating performance in turn drives further growth in client assets."
They also emphasized, "To accelerate growth in the virtuous-cycle integrated structure, capital as the fuel must be supplied continuously," adding, "We will boldly allocate capital to businesses with high revenue relative to risk, while closely reviewing low-efficiency areas to maximize the efficiency of our limited capital."
They also presented "AI transition" as a core task. The two CEOs said, "AI is not a simple automation tool but a core infrastructure that enhances employees' judgment and execution," adding that they will raise utilization across tasks to create an environment where employees can focus on high value-added work, while pushing a responsible AI transition that strictly adheres to personal information protection and internal control principles.
Lastly, they emphasized "strengthening internal controls" and "enhancing shareholder value and social responsibility" as key pillars. They pledged to boost customer trust by ensuring risk checks and customer-centric verification operate from the early stages of sales, to work to enhance long-term shareholder value as a listed financial investment company, and, as a member of NH Nonghyup Financial Group, to faithfully fulfill social responsibilities such as contributing to agricultural development and local communities.
Meanwhile, NH Investment & Securities also appointed outside director Ahn Sung-uk, a legal expert, at this extraordinary shareholders meeting. Ahn, the new outside director, is a former prosecutor who served as head of the narcotics and organized crime investigation division at the Busan District Prosecutors' Office and head of the trial and litigation division at the Seoul Eastern District Prosecutors' Office, and is currently the managing partner at the law firm Seongmun.
