KB Securities' pension asset management service is drawing attention. Under the vision of "putting the pension customer experience first," KB Securities has built an integrated pension customer management system that organically links branches with the pension asset management center. It provides an advanced pension service through a counseling system that combines in-person and non-face-to-face channels.
As KB Securities has strengthened its customized asset management service, it ranked No. 1 in personal retirement pension (IRP) asset growth rate over the past three years. According to disclosures on the integrated pension portal of the Financial Supervisory Service, as of the end of last year in the securities industry, KB Securities' three-year average annual growth rate for IRPs was 56%, far exceeding the industry average of 38%. It also ranked in the top five for growth in the defined contribution retirement pension (DC) category.
KB Securities' pension consulting starts with a comprehensive diagnosis of each customer's pension asset structure, life cycle, retirement timing, and post-retirement goals. After the assessment, a Pension Master private banker (PB) proposes a customized pension solution suited to the individual's financial situation and investment propensity. Post-consulting management is also carried out thoroughly.
A KB Securities official said, "Our core strategy is not just to boost short-term returns, but to support stable growth of pension assets from a medium- to long-term perspective."
Meanwhile, to strengthen organizational capabilities, KB Securities expanded and reorganized the existing pension division into a pension group this year. It also assigned specialized consulting personnel by separating individual and corporate customers and established a more systematic management system.
Pension Master PBs deployed at all branches are selected through strict internal standards. Customers visiting branches can receive one-on-one, customized pension consultations with a Pension Master PB. Highly specialized Pension Master PBs provide in-depth consulting even on complex pension issues. Experts in each field—such as tax accountants, Certified Public Labor Attorneys, and actuaries—affiliated with the pension group also participate directly to provide in-depth consulting on changes in tax-related systems and payout strategies.
Non-face-to-face counseling channels have also been enhanced. Through Prime PB phone consultations at the pension asset management center and the consultation reservation function within the mobile trading system (MTS) "KB M-able," customers can receive customized consulting from specialists at their preferred time.
On the product and service side, it is continuously advancing pension-specialized features such as default options, recommended portfolios, and automated investment solutions.
KB Securities is also actively using its YouTube channel and social media (SNS). Using the YouTube channel "Kkaebi Securities Marble TV" and KB Securities' social media, it produces short-form content to explain pension systems and investment strategies in an easy and friendly way. In particular, it is presenting content with strengthened storytelling and visual elements so that a wide range of age groups, including Millennials and Gen Z, can naturally take an interest in pensions.
In addition, it is expanding online and offline educational content and strengthening internal staff training to change the perception that retirement pensions are "difficult and complex financial products."
Song Sang-eun, head of KB Securities' pension group, said, "Our efforts to continuously strengthen the pension consulting system and professional workforce based on trust are leading to results," adding, "We plan to continue expanding differentiated, pension-specialized products and consulting services tailored to the needs of various customer groups, including office workers, Millennials and Gen Z, and pension recipients."
