The Credit Finance Association said on the 16th that it held an extraordinary general meeting and appointed Lee Dong-chul (photo), former vice chairman of KB Financial Group, as the 14th chairman. Lee's term is three years.
Born in 1961, Lee graduated from the Department of Law at Korea University and earned a New York State attorney qualification at Tulane University Law School (LLM) in the United States. He later served as managing director of the Strategic Planning Department at KB Financial Group, executive vice president of the Management Planning Division at KB Life Insurance, chief strategy officer (CSO) and executive vice president overseeing strategy at KB Financial Group, and CEO of KB Kookmin Card, and he was vice chairman at KB Financial Group (head of global and insurance, and head of digital and IT).
Lee said, "Although conditions are difficult due to uncertainty in the internal and external environment surrounding the industry, I will do my best as association chairman to advance the credit finance sector in step with the government's inclusive finance and productive finance stance."
