The Credit Finance Association said on the 4th that Lee Dong-cheol (photo), former CEO of KB Kookmin Card, was elected as the sole final candidate for the 14th president of the Credit Finance Association. On the day, the Presidential Candidate Recommendation Committee held interviews at Lotte Hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul with Park Kyung-hoon, former CEO of Woori Financial Capital, Yoon Chang-hwan, former senior secretary for policy to the National Assembly speaker, and Lee Dong-cheol, former CEO of KB Kookmin Card, and then held a vote.
The committee was composed of the CEOs of 15 companies: member directors (Lotte Card, Lotte Capital, BC Card, Korea Development Bank (KDB) Capital, Shinhan Card, Shinhan Capital, Woori Card, Hana Card, Hana Capital, Hyundai Card, Hyundai Capital, IBK Capital, KB Kookmin Card, KB Capital) and the auditor (Samsung Card).
Lee is expected to be finally appointed as the 14th president of the Credit Finance Association following a resolution at an extraordinary general meeting to be held on June 16. The term of the Credit Finance Association president is three years.
Lee graduated from the Department of Law at Korea University and served as executive vice president of the Management Planning Division at KB Life Insurance, chief strategy officer (CSO) and executive vice president at KB Financial Group, CEO of KB Kookmin Card, and vice chairman of KB Financial Group.
