The next head of the Credit Finance Association, which represents the credit finance industry including card companies and capital companies, will be decided on the 4th.
According to the industry on the 3rd, the Credit Finance Association will hold the second presidential candidate recommendation committee (selection committee) meeting on the 4th and conduct evaluations of the final three candidates.
The selection committee will conduct 40-minute interviews for each candidate, then shortlist a single candidate who wins a majority through a secret ballot. If the candidate secures a majority approval at a general meeting this month, the appointment as the next president will be finalized.
At the first meeting on the 27th, the document screening shortlisted Park Kyung-hoon, former CEO of Woori Financial Capital, Yoon Chang-hwan, former senior policy aide to the National Assembly speaker, and Lee Dong-cheol, former CEO of KB Kookmin Card.
Former CEO Park Kyung-hoon (64) graduated from Seoul National University with a degree in international economics, rose through the ranks at Woori Bank from teller to managing director, and served as executive vice president and chief financial officer (CFO) in charge of strategy and finance at Woori Financial Group and as CEO of Woori Financial Capital. Park is currently an outside director at Hanwha Savings Bank.
Candidate Yoon Chang-hwan (65) earned a bachelor's in law from Chonnam National University, a master's in journalism and mass communication from Chung-Ang University, and a Ph.D. in political science from Dongguk University, and went on to serve as senior policy aide to the National Assembly speaker (Grade-1 Deputy Minister level) and as head of AI policy special advisors for presidential candidate Lee Jae-myung's election committee.
Former CEO Lee Dong-cheol (65) graduated from Korea University with a degree in law and served as executive vice president of the business planning division at KB Life Insurance, chief strategy officer (CSO) and executive vice president at KB Financial Group, CEO of KB Kookmin Card, and vice chairman of KB Financial Group.
