KOSDAQ-listed Satoshi Holdings will adopt Korea Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI)'s core Digital Twin technology for the optical communication operations platform it is co-developing with its subsidiary Fiber Labs. The strategy is to use it to speed up its push into the AI data center operations market.
Satoshi Holdings said on the 21st that it will apply ETRI's "heterogeneous Digital Twin data brokerage and semantic mapping technology" to its AI optical communication operations platform, Fiber (FIBER).
The technology being introduced automatically links and analyzes different equipment and data. For example, instead of people manually aligning data from different equipment companies such as Nvidia, Cisco, Arista, and Juniper, the semantic technology interprets the meaning of the data and automatically links it.
In AI data centers, whenever new equipment or next-generation optical modules were added, engineers had to manually align the data for weeks to months. With this technology, however, the time to integrate new equipment is expected to be reduced by up to 90%.
A strength is that it can automatically handle ultra-high-speed optical modules of 400G, 800G, and 1.6T, which are rapidly spreading in the global AI infrastructure market. It is also said to be compatible with next-generation optical switches for AI data centers supplied by Nvidia.
The global Digital Twin market is currently led by global big tech corporations such as Microsoft and Siemens. Fiber Labs plans to be the first Korean company to take on the global market in AI data center optical communications by combining ETRI's technology. It also plans to expand the technology to automatic analysis of optical communication failures, cause inference, autonomous recovery, and pre-simulation functions.
A company official said, "If the transferred ETRI technology is combined with the Fiber platform, it will dramatically improve AI data center operational efficiency," adding, "Following our participation in the Nvidia Inception program, securing ETRI's technology has given us a new growth opportunity in the global AI infrastructure market."
Fiber Labs was recently selected as a full member of the Nvidia Inception program. Inception is a global program that discovers and nurtures promising startups in AI, optical communications, and high-performance computing. In Korea, Fiber Labs is a rare addition as an Inception member in the optical communication infrastructure operations field.
