On the 18th, shares of domestic related stocks were strong in early trading on news that SpaceX shortened its initial public offering (IPO) timeline.
As of 9:25 a.m. that day, Mirae Asset Venture Investment was trading at 59,100 won, up 4,200 won (7.65%) from the previous session.
Sphere was also at 43,550 won, up 1,550 won (3.69%) from the previous session, and Mirae Asset Securities was trading at 70,600 won, up 700 won (1%).
Earlier, Mirae Asset Group was reported to have invested $278 million in SpaceX in 2022–2023. Mirae Asset Securities and Mirae Asset Venture Investment were said to have executed equity investments.
In Sphere's case, it said in July last year that it had signed a long-term contract to supply special alloys to SpaceX for 10 years.
Foreign media, including Reuters, reported that Elon Musk will move to list SpaceX on June 12.
The market had expected the SpaceX listing to be timed for June 28, Musk's birthday, but the schedule has been moved up.
