Korea Exchange (KRX) said on the 7th that it delivered 15 million won in sponsorship funds to Busan Oryun School (Busan Juvenile Reformatory) to support protected juveniles who are under protective disposition and either confined in a juvenile reformatory or on probation in obtaining basic academic credentials.
KRX National Happiness Foundation Secretary-General Jeong Sang-ho, Busan Oryun School (Busan Juvenile Reformatory) Principal Jeong Yun, and other officials attended the delivery ceremony.
The KRX National Happiness Foundation has been steadily pursuing a program to support the acquisition of basic academic credentials through the qualification exam to address difficulties in career paths and employment caused by a lack of academic background during the social reintegration process of protected juveniles.
The funds will be used to purchase learning devices for viewing video lectures and to buy study materials for the qualification exam.
Chair Jeong Eun-bo said, "We hope this support helps protected juveniles continue their studies and lay the groundwork for a stable return to society," adding, "We will continue to provide support so that protected juveniles can live as members of society, with Busan as our base."
