Studio Mir (408900) said on the 6th that it will officially launch the virtual idol group "B:DAWN" through its wholly owned subsidiary Durii Entertainment.
On the afternoon of the day, Durii Entertainment released the music video for B:DAWN's debut single "BEOM" and exclusively livestreamed an online debut showcase through Naver's live streaming platform CHZZK. Through this showcase, B:DAWN unveiled to the public for the first time its identity as a virtual idol intellectual property (IP) that combines music, performance, and a narrative universe.
Studio Mir will fully push ahead with a virtual IP business spanning music, video, characters, and fandom operations, starting with B:DAWN's debut project. This launch is meaningful in that the company is expanding its business model from a simple production house to directly planning, developing, and operating new IP.
In particular, Studio Mir plans to develop an entertainment business centered on virtual idol IP, based on its production know-how and project execution experience built through collaborations with global over-the-top (OTT) services and major content partners.
Specifically, the plan is to organically combine B:DAWN's music and performance, video content, and character storytelling to expand market touchpoints across various channels, including music releases, music videos, live content, and fandom communication.
Through this, the company will diversify its revenue model based on proprietary IP beyond its existing animation production business and strengthen a business portfolio that connects content planning and production to IP operation and global distribution.
The company expects B:DAWN to establish itself as a new growth engine that combines Studio Mir's production technology with Durii Entertainment's entertainment operation capabilities.
A Studio Mir official said, "The launch of Durii Entertainment's virtual idol B:DAWN is one of the key mid- to long-term growth strategies we have pursued," adding, "We will continue our leap to become a comprehensive entertainment corporations by building a full-lineup system that connects proprietary IP planning and operation to global distribution, based on our existing animation production competitiveness."
