As the KOSPI index topped 7,000 points right after the open on the 6th, hitting a record high, securities stocks are also rising.
As of 9:11 a.m. that day, Kiwoom Securities shares were up 9.35% (39,500 won) from the previous day at 462,000 won.
Samsung Securities was trading at 145,000 won, up 5.15% (7,100 won) from the previous trading day. Mirae Asset Securities, Korea Investment Holdings, NH Investment & Securities, and Yuanta Securities Korea were also all showing strong gains.
The KOSPI index opened at 7,093.01, up 2.25% (156.02 points) from the previous trading day, and topped the 7,000 level right after the open.
As the KOSPI index has been setting a record high day after day, stock market transactions are also increasing. As a result, buying appears to be concentrated as expectations grow for securities firms' earnings.
Jang Young-im of SK Securities said, "The average daily transaction value in April and the balance of margin loans remained solid," adding, "Given that the stock market rally is continuing, a favorable environment for the securities industry is persisting in the second quarter."
